Lasting sustainability is a familiar promise in foreign aid proposals and projects, but it remains an untested assumption in most global development efforts. Real sustainability requires local engagement and ownership, early planning, investment in what is funded, how projects are designed and implemented, monitored & evaluated, with joint learning afterward. Join us to discuss good and bad practices in sustainability planning and ex-post project evaluations that learn from what lasts after donors leave, why, and why not.
