Community Art Party - Term 3, 2025
Event description
Everyone is welcome to join us for our monthly Sunday brunch COMMUNITY ART PARTIES.
These are all ages & all abilities events (children must be accompanied by a responsible adult).
The aim of these events is to have fun making art for the Not a Cupboard installation in the Newlands Neighbourhood House hallway gallery. When we have enough art works, we will be collating them into a collection of Bags, Books and Boxes that will form a travelling art exhibition as part of the wikimoma community arts project being facilitated by the MOMA crew.
No formal arts & crafts experience is necessary - just a willingness to playfully explore your own creativity in a collaborative/social environment.
Materials will be provided, as will assistance in the form of informal skill sharing. Feel free to bring your own materials to use and/or donate if you like. Each month the facilitators will focus on different guided activities:
making 3D objects out of a variety of materials
storytelling and creative game-making/playing
mono printing, mixed medial and collage.
You can do your own creative project if you don't want to participate in the guided activities.
Please bring a plate of food to share. Tea, coffee and juice will be provided.
Community Art Party is free for Necchi Members, and $5 for non-Necchi Members.
No one excluded for lack of funds.
