Community Bunting Project Gathering - Cut, Sew & Connect - Saturday 26th July

Northern Beaches Community Bunting Gathering | Saturday 26th July | 9:30am - 12:00pm

Come along and get crafty in your community — a relaxed and welcoming morning where you can start your creation for the Northern Beaches Community Bunting Project.

Whether you're a beginner or a creative pro, there's a space for you here. Come solo, bring a friend or bring your street – everyone’s welcome! Maybe extend an invite to your neighbour who likes to sew or have a chat! You can be as basic or creative with you creation as you like...think Northern Beaches inspired...dolphins, whales, turtles, trees, beaches, our local clubs, sunsets and sunrises, our people, relationships.

Please BYO fabric, fabric scissors, cotton, pins and pinking shears where possible. If this sounds like a foreign language - don't stress, we will have some communal fabric scraps and items that you can use. If you own a sewing machine please bring it, as well as a powerboard or extension lead just in case we need to make some extra room for all of our creatives.

Jump across to our 'Northern Beaches Community Bunting' Group to find out more about the project and some top sustainability tips before rushing out to buy fabric. Old pillowcases, sheets or visiting your local op-shop are great alternatives to reduce, reuse, repurpose first.

Please note:
- we'd like you to register your attendance so we know how many people to expect (link below)
- this gathering is not suitable for young children.
- we will have some creative mentors available to assist.
- youth are to have an adult present with them - please check in with our mentors upon arrival for more information.
- The space will be set up for intergenerational interaction.
- Bring some snacks for yourself or a plate to share.

This event is part of the Northern Beaches Community Wellbeing Series and is proudly supported by the Mackay Northern Beaches Lions Club and Northern Beaches Community Network. The Series is made possible by a Mackay Regional Council Community Impact Grant.

We kindly ask for a minimum gold coin donation or up to $5.00 to help cover consumables and for future sustainability of more events like this. We will have card facilities available on the day or you can donate via humanitix.
