Join North East Waste - NEWaste and Ballina Shire Council Resource Recovery Team for a free, practical session covering all things compost and worm farming! This workshop is for people new to composting or compost champions.

We will cover:

  • How to set up your compost bin

  • How to make your own compost container

  • Dos and dont's of home composting

  • How to manage weeds and vermin

  • Ways to use your home-made compost

Rural residents of Ballina Shire are encouraged to attend to brush up on their composting knowledge ahead of the rural landfill collection frequency changing to fortnightly in October; however, any resident of Ballina Shire is welcome to attend.
