    Event description

Many people in the community fear the end stage of life, not because we’re necessarily afraid of dying but because we fear such things as loss of mental faculties, control, and dignity, being a burden on family, and not receiving adequate pain relief. As competent adults, we do have a say in how and where we are to die, and whether to accept or refuse life-prolonging treatment.

Community Connection is a series of informational talks that will assist you in understanding how to take more control over the end of life wishes, through understanding what Palliative Care is, who is involved in care, staying well for as long as possible, supporting others, what is advanced care planning and how to have conversations around end of life wishes.
