Community Connections: Weaving Lives Together
Event description
A day of learning together about how God is working in our communities and how we can join in.
We’ll explore our theme through small groups, electives, a market-place of ideas for community engagement and a “clearinghouse” of community connections theology, a sacred space for quiet reflection, and small group conversations.
Karina Kreminski will join us from Sydney. Karina has worked in the fields of English teaching and journalism. She has been a Senior Minister in the Church and was Missiology Lecturer at Morling College in Sydney. She loves the leadership formation space speaks regularly at churches and conferences on neighbourhood and community mission and activism. She facilitates a faith community in Surry Hills connected to Newtown Mission. Karina has written a book called Urban Spirituality: Embodying God’s Mission in the Neighbourhood, and is now a Uniting Church minister and Mission Catalyst in NSW.
We’ll also have local resource people from communities practicing community ministry in SA through the Community Connections Collective.
Cost: $30, $20 concession and $25 each if a group of 4 or more from the same church. Morning tea and refreshments are included but lunch is BYO or purchase food in nearby shops.
