Community Dune Planting, Inverloch

Join South Gippsland Conservation Society at the Inverloch Surf Life Saving Club, Inverloch (163 Surf Parade) to plant the sand dunes around the Surf Club and enjoy a BBQ afterwards – all welcome.
After project delays the major equipment has been removed from site and we now have the all clear to get our 1,000 plants on the sand dunes in front of the Inverloch Surf Club.
South Gippsland Conservation Society will guide the planting, following planting the Inverloch Surf Life Saving Club is hosting a BBQ lunch.
These plants will help stabilise the reconstructed dunes by reducing wind erosion, trapping sand to rebuild dune structure and providing habitat for native wildlife, partially replacing habitat lost over the past 12 years.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to see firsthand the results of a decade’s work initiated by the South Gippsland Conservation Society and supported by the community through the Inverloch Surf Life Saving Club and the Inverloch Tourism Association.
Our new date is Saturday, September 26 starting at 10am - 12pm followed by a BBQ.
We realise its Grand Final Day so we’ll be all done and you can be home in time for the first bounce.
We emphasise the need for registration in case of a weather event that may cancel the day, this will also assist in catering for the BBQ.
Wear your sturdy work and footwear, prepare for a robust day in a beautiful place along Bass Coast.
