Recycle your old fabric and clothes for free!
Bring your old fabric and clothes to the Kew Depot Recycling Drop-off Centre on Saturday 21 June from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm to give them a new life.
We're partnering with Textile Recyclers Australia to recycle your old fabric and clothes that you can no longer reuse or mend.
This event is exclusively for Boroondara residents (no businesses).
How does it work?
Pick a 15-minute time slot between 10.30am and 1.30pm using the registration button below.
If your first choice isn’t available, please select the next best time.
Be sure to arrive on time.
Drive through the depot and hand your old fabrics and clothes to the on-site staff available. See accepted items below.
How much can I bring?
Residents can bring up to one large bag of old fabrics or clothing on the day.
All items will be sorted and transformed into new products such as mattress fillers, cleaning cloths, and carpet tiles.
What can I bring?
Clothing
Socks
Swimwear
Belts
Household linen, like sheets, tablecloths, bathmats and towels
Unlined curtains
Shoes
Pillows and cushions
Rugs, including jute rugs.
What don't we accept?
Underwear, including bras and shapewear
Block-out curtains
Fabric containing metallic fibres
Soiled clothes and fabric (washed food or dirt stains will be accepted)
Mouldy or wet clothes and fabric
Upholstered fabric
Uniforms
Nappies
Soft toys with hard plastic components.
