Community Energy Zones
Event description
Community Energy Zones.
Community Energy Zones are the natural evolution from Electrification (eg E2515), Distributed energy resources (ie the Panels EVs etc owned by consumers), Vehicle to Grid and Community Batteries. A CEZ has storage as the basis for trade and runs on the local network. It is almost self sufficient.
The revolution is just starting. It is called Community Energy Zones. Greg Knight will present on this concept and what we need to do to get one in our area.
With a Community Energy Zone, Wollongong can retain in excess of $100m within the region instead of exporting the money we have to earn to purchase power from external sources.
