Community Evening Trimester 2 2026
Description
About Ignite:
Ignite Consultants is a student-run charitable organisation that provides free nine-week consulting projects for Aotearoa not-for-profits.
In Wellington we take on over 80 university students as volunteer consultants each year. We give them training, support, and a team, while partnering them with a not-for-profit client. Teams work closely with their client on challenges such as funding, volunteer engagement, branding, and strategy.
We run two nine-week project cycles per year which coincide with university semesters. Each team consists of 5-6 students, a professional mentor with experience in consulting, and a student project manager.
About the Event:
Ignite's Community Evening is a special occasion where our consultants, charity clients, and mentors share what they have learnt, created and experienced over their projects. This is a free event where you have the opportunity to celebrate the remarkable charities we have collaborated with this semester, to enjoy delicious food provided and to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our supporters.
This semester, attendees will get to hear presentations from the teams who have worked with Manawa Karioi, Y Central, Age Concern, FERNZ, UnionAID, Mothers Network, Wairarapa Community Centre, and Chaplaincy VUW.
Community Evening is a cornerstone of the Wellington not-for-profit calendar, connecting individuals from across the charity sector, students, academics, professional consultants, as well as public and private sector supporters. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet and connect with people interested in making meaningful impact.
A huge thank you to our sponsors Deloitte and Duncan Cotterill, and grants from The Clare Foundation and Victoria University of Wellington for their ongoing support of our consultants and the upcoming evening.
