COMMUNITY GAMES DAY

End the year the right way - together.

We’re bringing families, people with disability, young people and adults from across the community together for one big end-of-year celebration. A full day of sport, fitness challenges, team activities, dance and laughter at Grey Gums Oval. Every participant is placed into a group with others their own age, and together they compete, cheer each other on and finish the year as a team.

This day is about more than sport. It’s about belonging, pushing yourself, having fun and feeling part of something bigger. All abilities welcome, with adaptive sports and adaptive testing built into every experience. From the opening warm-up to the awards ceremony, Santa gifts and final send-off — every moment is designed for our community.

What’s on the day:

Sports — competitive team games in a 10v10 format with results tracked across the day.

Fitness Testing — each participant gets a personal scorecard covering speed, agility, push ups, plank and broad jump, with adaptive options available.

Challenges — relays and obstacle courses adjusted for each age group.

Activities — team puzzles, games and hands-on activities for every group.

Cheer and Dance Off — groups create and rehearse their own chant and routine, then perform live after lunch in front of everyone.

Rest & Sensory — a calm space with water, snacks, sensory-friendly equipment and first aid on standby throughout the day.

Local schools, disability service providers, sporting clubs and community organisations will also be on-site throughout the day to connect with families.

The Groups

Group 1 — Ages 4, 5, 6

Group 2 — Ages 7, 8, 9

Group 3 — Ages 10, 11, 12

Group 4 — Ages 13, 14, 15

Group 5 — Ages 16, 17, 18

Group 6 — Ages 18+

Terms & Conditions, Waiver, and Release of Liability

By purchasing a ticket and/or attending Community Games Day, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Parent/Guardian Responsibility

If registering a child, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian with full authority to approve participation. You confirm your child is in good health and physically able to participate in the activities on the day. Adult participants (18+) confirm they are in good health and physically able to participate.

2. Rules, Behaviour and Supervision

All participants must follow event rules, instructions and safety directions from organisers and staff at all times. Parents and guardians remain responsible for the supervision and wellbeing of their child throughout the event. Respect, inclusion and good sportsmanship are expected from everyone in attendance. Zero Tolerance: Fighting, bullying, aggressive behaviour, or smoking and vaping on-site will result in immediate removal from the event without refund, and may result in a ban from future events.

3. Duty to Withdraw if Unsafe

If you or your child feels unsafe, unwell, or you observe any hazard during the event, ensure participation stops immediately and report it to an event organiser.

4. Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge that sports and physical activities carry inherent risks including but not limited to injury, illness, disability, property damage or death. You voluntarily accept all such risks on behalf of yourself and/or your child.

5. Release and Waiver of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless Creative Spring Community, its organisers, volunteers, staff, sponsors and partners from any liability, claims or damages arising from participation in the event, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

6. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Creative Spring Community and its representatives from any claims, costs, damages or expenses including legal fees related to your and/or your child’s participation in the event.

7. Ticket Purchase and Attendance

Purchasing a ticket confirms you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions. Tickets are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, please contact the organisers to arrange an approved transfer. Tickets must not be on-sold or transferred without organiser approval, as attendance is restricted to registered participants for safety and planning purposes.

8. Medical Treatment Authorisation

In the event of injury or illness, you authorise Creative Spring Community staff and volunteers to arrange or administer first aid, and to seek emergency medical treatment (including ambulance transport) on your or your child’s behalf if you cannot be immediately reached. You agree to be responsible for any associated medical costs.

9. Photography, Video and Media Consent

Photos and videos may be taken throughout the event and used by Creative Spring Community for promotional, marketing and archival purposes across social media, website and print. If you do not consent to your or your child’s image being used, you must notify an event organiser in writing prior to the event.

10. Weather and Event Changes

This is an outdoor event and may be affected by weather or other circumstances beyond our control. Creative Spring Community reserves the right to modify, postpone, shorten or cancel activities or the event for safety reasons. No refunds will be provided for weather-related changes.

11. Third-Party Providers

Some activities, experiences or entertainment may be delivered by third-party partners, contractors or volunteers (including but not limited to referees, MC, fitness and activity providers). Creative Spring Community is not liable for the acts or omissions of these third parties, beyond what is required by law.

12. Personal Property

Creative Spring Community is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property brought on-site.

13. Health Declarations

You confirm that you and/or your child do not have any medical condition, allergy or contagious illness that could pose a risk to yourself or others at the event, unless disclosed to organisers in advance.
