Selwyn Governance Fundamentals Webinar

This online workshop is hosted by Selwyn District Council. Facilitated by Megan Thorn from Exult. 

The workshop is a great introduction to Governance that gives you a practical guide to your role without all the fluff and jargon. Join us if:

• You’re an experienced Board member, you’ll find it useful as a refresher,

• You are new to governance, it’s a great opportunity to get off to a great start,

• You are thinking about getting involved with governance and want to know more about what it is all about,

• You are a manager who wants to know what you can reasonably expect from your governing group.

In this workshop you will discover:

• The role of the board. What are the big chunk areas of focus for a governing group.

• Board roles and responsibilities. What does these areas look like in a real sense? Who does what?

• Best practice governance. What are the practices that ensure governing groups are working at their highest level? How do you measure up? What small changes can you make to create even more impact as a governing group?

• Expectations of trustees. What can be reasonably expected from individual trustees? What behaviours should trustees demonstrate on a consistent basis?

Priority will be given to Selwyn community groups and residents should the workshop reach capacity.
