    Want to learn how to support someone who may be struggling with depression? Do you know how to spot the signs when someone is at risk of suicide? Would you know what to do if a friend or someone you knew was at risk?

    In this Kōrero you will learn the basics of suicide prevention, how to spot the signs when our rangatahi are at risk and need support, and practical steps on what you can do to help.

    Guest speaker:  Aaron Hendry is a Youth Worker, rangatahi advocate, writer, and political commentator on social justice issues. He lives in an intentional community out West in Tāmaki, whose purpose is to serve rangatahi who experience homelessness. Aaron's mahi is largely focused on ending Youth Homelessness in Aotearoa, and he is a founding member of Manaaki Rangatahi, a collective fighting to #EndYouthHomelessness in Aotearoa. He is the founder of Kick Back, a social justice and youth development movement, Kicking Back against the idea that any young person is too "at-risk" to Love, and playing its part in the ongoing fight to end and prevent youth homelessness in Aotearoa. Alongside this he also serves on the board for Massey Community Trust and has had a key role in developing the Safety Net Project, and The Front Door Project, two community initiative's designed to support rangatahi experiencing homelessness.
