    Better Practice First Nations Engagement

    Learning by coming with me...

Come along to our First Nations Engagement Community of Practice, where First Nations-led thought leaders share knowledge and engagement ideas across the energy and water sectors.

For our first session for 2023, we will hear from Sherrie Anderson, Yura Ngura Indigenous Advisory Manager from Transgrid's Yura Ngura Indigenous Advisory Team. Established in 2021, the team are committed to driving reconciliation through inclusive and respectful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the communities Transgrid operates in.

    Introducing Sherrie Anderson...

I am a proud Biripi/ Worimi woman, a motivated community and stakeholder engagement professional, with experience across areas such as strategic communications, construction communications, community and stakeholder engagement, business development and development and administration of policy and procedures in Aboriginal affairs.

I believe in the importance of knowledge sharing.

I have been working in the Energy sector for over 5 years working on projects with Aboriginal Communities across NSW and ACT including Stockdill Substation build, Sapphire Windfarm community benefits, EnergyConnect, HumeLink, Central West Orana REZ, a number of interconnector transmission line projects throughout NSW, QLD, VIC and ACT. Currently working with Aboriginal communities, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, Traditional Owners and Registered Aboriginal Parties on Transgrid’s portfolio of projects.

Walk through the Better Practice Community Engagement Toolkit...

Following Sherrie, we will walk through the Better Practice Community Engagement Toolkit launch in May 2023, which brings together case studies and practical experiences that highlight what worked well, what was learned and what outcomes were achieved along the way across three stages of engagement.
