Community Planting day at Bon Thomas Grasslands

🌱 Community Grasslands Planting Day 🌾

Join Brimbank Council's Conservation team for a hands-on, exciting day of giving back to nature! We're bringing the Deer Park community together to help restore our local grasslands at Bon Thomas Reserve — an essential habitat for lizards, pollinators, and countless other species.

What to Expect:

• Planting native grasses, wildflowers and shrubs 🌼

• Learning about the importance of grasslands for the local ecosystem 🐝

• Meeting like-minded neighbours and enjoying the fresh air ☀️

• Light refreshments and fun activities for kids!

What to Bring:

• Closed-toe shoes and long pants

• Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)

• Reusable water bottle

• Gloves (optional—we’ll have extras!)

Accessibility: The event is about a 250m walk from the carpark along a walking path. The planting is taking place near the path and we will have seats and shade available to rest. There is accessible toilets at the sporting grounds.
