Community Red Tent
Event description
The Red Tent Community Gathering is for those who identify as women.
It's a women's circle for experiencing presence, connection & communication; it is for the sake of gathering!
The Red Tent, in today's day and age, is the hearth of the community; it is where the CIRCLE is re-membered.
It is as ancient as mythology - we'll never know if it was a reality, though we know it can become our culture.
The aim is for the circle to gain momentum and become available for all ages of women.
As a place where the Maiden who received her first blood (the rite of passage of Menarche) meets the Mother (who birthed projects, careers or babies) meets the Maga (who knows the rite of passage of Menopause) meets the Crone (the wise elder).
All will be explained in a warm and encouraging women's circle.
This is where you will be supported, safe, held, heard, whole.
Sacred Psychology is hosting the monthly meetings of the Community Red Tent.
Sacred Psychology was founded by Tammy Ben-Shaul both as a therapeutic orientation and a modality that includes a holistic outlook in shifting patriarchy from a place of healing.
Tammy is a local clinical psychologist and relational psychoanalytic therapist who has experienced the nourishment and magic that happens when women sit in circle. Her experience as a group facilitator in therapeutic settings as well as the gentlest of circles will ensure that your comfort will be a priority.
For women who come to circle monthly, there is a sense of familiarly, closeness and a sense of community that builds. There is absolutely no requirement. ALL women and NB folk who were born with a menstrual system are welcome to join any time.
Tammy is fulfilling a commitment made following one of her Red Tent guides to create a Red Tent in Every Neighborhood and to fill the request by her teacher Jane Hardwicke Collings founder of the School of Shamanic Womancraft "to spread wisdom of cycles and blood mysteries knowledge as fast and far and wide"
Every gathering has been nourishing, relaxing and fulfilling. Do join.
