    Event description

The fourth of six workshops planned for 2024 to build community resilience to drought.

The online workshop will be hosted at six locations across the South West (see below) and will involve a review of past local experiences and projects to address community resilience and the impacts of drought.

GUEST SPEAKER: DEAN BAVICH (Rural West) and Mike Monaghan (Farmanco)

Dean is a Rural Financial Counsellor with Rural West. He brings to the role a background in business, farm finance and farming plus deep passion for community.

    Followed by:

    - Group discussion will identify actions to build community resilience to drought or other impacts.

    - Building resilient communities ahead of a predicted increase in drought events.

      - Sharing ideas between groups.

The workshop will be held at Community Resource Centres (CRCs) in: Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Donnybrook, Brunswick Junction and Manjimup. Attendance at these locations is preferred, but if not possible, a meeting link will be sent.

It is the fourth in a planned series of six workshops for 2024, designed to create a Community Resilience Network - One of five "Surviving the Dry" projects in the South West.

This project is supported by FRRR, through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund. More information here.
