Community Response Training 2025
Event description
The Shire have partnered with OVIS to deliver Community Response Training to local residents and volunteers.
This training is an in-depth program focused on Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) awareness and response. It aims to educate participants on the prevalence and indicators of FDV, provide guidance on responding safely and appropriately to individuals experiencing FDV, and outline procedures for referring them to specialist services.
The program encompasses a range of topics, including:
• Types of violence and their impact on women and children
• Recognising the signs of FDV
• Identifying groups at higher risk for FDV
• Techniques for initiating conversations about FDV concerns
• Best practices in responding to FDV disclosures
• Importance of referring individuals to specialised FDV services
This is a full day session with morning tea and lunch provided.
