Event description

Your role in our community’s safety matters.

Join us for an important and timely Community Safety and Security Training, designed to empower members of Chochmat HaLev with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to help keep our community safe and supported.

This training will be led by Jessie Austin, Chochmat’s new Director of Operations, Inette Dishler, our longtime Security Coordinator, and Rafael Brinner, Senior Director of Community Security at the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco

Together, they will guide us through Chochmat’s current safety and security protocols, offer practical tools for how to stay alert, and share steps you can take if you notice something concerning while attending services, events, or simply being on-site.

You’ll learn:

  • What to be aware of when entering and exiting our space

  • How to calmly and appropriately respond if something seems “off”

  • Ways to support others during an emergency

We believe that safety is a shared responsibility—and that when our community is informed and engaged, we are stronger together. Whether you’re a regular attendee, volunteer, or someone who cares deeply about Chochmat’s well-being, this training is for you.

We encourage all members to attend. Your participation helps protect not only yourself but the sacred space we co-create.

We'll be offering a follow up training for Volunteer Security Greeters on September 4, at 6:30pm. More information to come.
