About the Event
Join us for an exclusive screening of White Rock, the powerful new documentary exposing the urgent environmental crisis facing the Great Southern Reef due to longspined sea urchins—and the innovative solutions turning this challenge into opportunity. Featuring filmmaker Damon Gameau, the film connects science, policy, and sustainable seafood to inspire action.
After the screening, enjoy a Q&A session and a VIP tour of the Marine Discovery Centre (approx. 45 mins).
Why This Matters
The Great Southern Reef is a biodiversity hotspot, yet it faces an escalating crisis. Longspined urchins have stripped thousands of kilometres of coastline of vital kelp forests, endangering marine life and fisheries. White Rock not only documents this urgent issue but also shines a light on practical, sustainable solutions—turning crisis into opportunity through innovative seafood strategies and reef restoration initiatives.
