DCJ + NCOSS Briefing: New Community Sector Agreement

In 2023, the NSW Government committed to delivering more job security and funding certainty for the NSW community services sector.

As part of the Secure Jobs and Funding Certainty Roadmap Priority Area 2, a Community Services Funding Framework was launched in January 2026 to support a standardised and more consistent process for contract management.

To align with this Framework, funding agencies are shifting towards longer term agreements including five-year contract terms as well as ensuring consistency in contractual arrangements across NSW community service funding agencies.

The introduction of preferred contract – the Community Sector Agreement has commenced and will be phased in over the next few years for contracting the NSW community services sector.

This session will cover the key features of the new Community Sector Agreement, highlighted changes from the existing Agreement for Funding of Services and outline the plan for implementation.
