Community Storytelling Ritual - Online
Event description
**The Community Storytelling Ritual will be online this month**
The Community Storytelling Ritual is a wholehearted space to share stories and connect. Telling and listening to personal stories increases wellbeing and feelings of self-empowerment. Many of us long to share more authentically about our lives in creative and soulful ways. Together we can lovingly journey towards deeper meaning and coherence.
This month’s theme is: Home and Belonging
What will happen on the day?
*A guided meditation and creative process to access our individual stories
*Sharing individual stories with a small group
*A creative process developing a story in each small group for a group telling
*A telling from each small group to the larger group
*Celebration with chai and treats
Who will facilitate the ritual?
Ilan Abrahams
Ilan is a facilitator and artist with more than 20 years experience in
theatre, health promotion, and pastoral care. He has run programs
extensively in educational and community settings. Whilst enjoying the
company of his five chickens during the recent lockdowns, he is excited
to share stories again with groups of other humans. Ilan is currently
completing a PhD in Public Health.
Beck Meyers
Beck is a community artist and lover of story. She spends a lot of time drinking tea in the bush and telling stories to her patient cat. She has worked with diverse groups of people for over 15 years and is moved by the way we can inspire creativity in one another. Beck runs Waxing Moon Chai out of Castlemaine; a mobile chai tent serving chai tea and treats for gatherings and events.
