About the Speakers:
Nick has been the Executive Director of Sustain since its establishment in January 2016. With a background in law, community development and the non-profit sector of 30 years, since 2007, Nick has worked at the grassroots and institutional level in several Australian states in food sovereignty and sustainable food systems.
He is the editor of Fair Food: Stories from a Movement Changing the World (2015) and the co-editor of Reclaiming the Urban Commons: The past, present and future of food growing in Australian towns and cities (2018). He manages Sustain’s program of collective impact projects, consultancy, events and research. He lectures in food movements, food systems and food politics at William Angliss Institute in Melbourne (Bachelor of Food Studies / Master of Food Systems and Gastronomy)

Andrew Ward was raised in and around Moree (NSW). He commenced a Horticultural Science degree in 1998, but dropped out to pursue a business venture. His family and friends remain in Agriculture and associated industries.
