    Companion planting workshop

    Event description

Growing certain fruits, veggies, flowers and herbs together (i.e. companion plants) can encourage faster growth, better flavours, natural ground cover and shade, improved soil nutrition and more. Some companion plants can even attract pollinators while also repelling pests — a wonderful win-win situation.

It’s important to plan ahead and choose the right companion plants based on what veggies you’re trying to grow. In this 2 hour workshop you will learn about companion planting, how it works and its benefits.

Brought to you by Sugar Valley Sustainable Neighbourhood Group and Lake Macquarie City Council presented by Tree Frog Permaculture at Holmesville Community Garden, this free 2 hour workshop will answer all your questions and demonstrate how you can get better crops and reduce the or eliminate use of pesticides.

Numbers are limited, so get in early and book now!

You can also join us for the Lake Mac Grows Crop Swap before the workshop, any time between 9-11am. Bring along whatever surplus produce you have from your garden and take from what others brought to share. Find out more.
