Co-Design in Complex Systems

Event description

Co-Design in Complex Systems is a short workshop series for public and community sector professionals who want to see how systems thinking and co-design come together in both theory and practice.

The online workshops involve hands-on exercises and discussion to learn how to effectively accommodate design, dialogue and co-creation in project planning, commissioning and management.

Designed and delivered by Dr Emma Blomkamp, the workshops present a Practice Framework for systems-aware co-design. This ethical and evidence-informed approach covers the key domains of systems change, co-design and social innovation: place, people, process, practice and principles.

The training workshops will model how to effectively engage community members online. In addition to the practice framework and case studies, participants will also gain access to a resource bank with relevant materials and tools that they can share with their organisation.

The 90-minute sessions will be held online, one per week over a month. We are taking expressions of interest for an intake in the second half of 2021. Registrations are currently open for:

  • Tuesdays in May: 5pm-6.30pm AEST / 7pm-8.30pm NZT / 9am-10.30am CEST / 8am-9.30am BST

This program has been designed in particular for managers and leaders in public and community organisations in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand who want to co-create better outcomes with their stakeholders and communities.

Two scholarship places are available, one each for an Indigenous practitioner from Australia and from Aotearoa New Zealand.
