Complexity, Intersectionality and Working Together
Description
The Gold Coast Inclusion Network (GCIN) brings together leaders across disability, community, health and human services to build more inclusive practice through shared learning and real conversations.
This November session explores complexity, intersectionality and the importance of working together to better support people whose lives and circumstances span multiple services, systems and communities.
People's lives don't fit neatly into service categories, funding streams or organisational boundaries. Yet too often, people are left navigating disconnected systems when their circumstances require a more coordinated response.
Through a guest presentation and an interactive fishbowl conversation, we'll explore the challenges of working across organisational and sector boundaries, share different perspectives and consider what genuine collaboration could look like in practice.
We'll also come together for a creative Community Mapping activity, identifying the services, expertise, resources and connections that exist across our GCIN network. Together, we'll begin mapping our collective strengths, exploring opportunities for collaboration and identifying where stronger connections could make a difference.
You'll leave with new perspectives, a better understanding of the services and expertise within our community, and stronger connections with others committed to building a more inclusive Gold Coast.
