Are you new to auditioning or feeling unsure about what to expect? Join us for Composed — a fun and supportive introduction to the audition process for our upcoming production of 13 Jr.
Led by experienced members of the CentreStage Rolleston team Caelan Thomas, Catherine McHaffie and Stella Stevens, this two-hour session will give young performers the chance to experience our audition format in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. The workshop will cover everything from what to bring and how to prepare, to tips for feeling confident in singing, dancing, and acting components.
What to Expect:
-
A warm welcome and 15 minutes of fun icebreakers
-
Guided practice through singing, acting, and dancing segments (just like a real audition!)
-
Helpful chats before each section about what’s expected and how to approach it
-
Plenty of time for questions — no such thing as a silly one!
Important Notes:
-
This is an optional workshop designed to help students feel prepared and confident.
-
Participation in the workshop does not give any advantage in actual auditions.
-
The workshop is not run by the creative team for 13 Jr — it’s all about levelling the playing field and supporting new performers.
Whether you're new to theatre or just want to brush up your audition skills, this is a fantastic way to step into the spotlight feeling ready and empowered.
