COMPOST YOUR SHIT

Event description

Composting is a Vitaly important process both in our gardens and deep within our own beings.

Come and join us for a Natural building workshop with a difference.

As a group we will be crafting a simple, highly functional and aesthetically beautiful compost toilet entirely from natural and recycled materials.

We will be exploring the Science(theory), Philosophy(why?) and Methodology (how?) of composting and humanure.

Whilst simultaneously taking a look inside of our own beings. Opening an enquiry into what it means to recycle old and stagnated parts of our own selves, to allow ourselves to decompose and to re emerge with fresh new life. To compost our shit!

Our Kaupapa combines up skilling practically for resilience and sustainability with a cultivation of awareness of our unconscious behaviour making space for our truest authentic expression of life to shine through.

We will be using the permaculture design process as well as the pillars of Te Ao Maori as key tools on our journey.

This is a place to shed, to learn and to grow and connect with ourselves each other and this sacred Earth Papatuanuku.

In this journey we will introduce and explore these topics:

- How to build a compost toilet from natural and recycled materials.

- Humanure! Why and how to compost shit?

- Using the Permaculture design process to interact with the abundance of our local environment and create intelligent systems for sustainable living.

- Using light earth as a sustainable cheap and easy natural building technique.

- Soil ecology and fungi.

- Water health and conservation.

- Composting theory.

As well as working with our shadows and creating space to support the composting of what no longer serves us. Bringing awareness and love to our inner world. Through meditation, self enquires and group reflections and utilising this beautiful group of humans to create a safe and supporting environment we can move towards integrating all of our internal parts into a rich, healthy and abundant ecosystem.
