Event description

Living in an apartment or don't have a backyard and think you don't have room to compost? Think again!

In this on-line presentation, Compost Community will show how people who are short on space can turn their food waste into a rich food that helps their household plants thrive. Learn how to set up, run and harvest worm farms, bokashi and compost your food scraps from your balcony, laundry, or courtyard. Get useful tips on working communally to reap the benefits of composting in your local community.

Please note that this is an event for Naarm/Melbourne gardeners only. If you live outside this area, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.

If you have any access or support questions or requirements in order to participate fully (eg. interpreter), please let us know at least two weeks prior to the event and we will be pleased to assist you. The presentation will be recorded to allow more participants to benefit from the information after the session, but you will be able to avoid being in the video and audio.

This My Smart Garden event is proudly presented by Merri-Bek City Council on the land of Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. My Smart Garden pays our respect to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledges that First Nations peoples have cared for Country sustainably for tens of thousands of years.
