Event description

Join us in Brooklyn for a musical evening of community and solidarity!

At Roulette Intermedium (509 Atlantic Ave., Brooklyn, NY, 11217) at 7:30pm

Featuring musical performances across classical, Arabic, and contemporary genres, this concert will be an opportunity for folks to come together to reflect, build community, and take action toward providing urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza through our wonderful beneficiary, the Middle East Children’s Alliance. The event will also highlight speakers from the community who will offer their own perspectives on the dire situation in Palestine and at home.

Organizers

Barenboim-Said Foundation (USA) empowers young musicians from the Middle East and North Africa. Guided by the vision of our founders, Edward W. Said and Daniel Barenboim, we promote the power of humanism and cultural exchange to catalyze social change. 

Piece by Piece Productions is an independent theatrical production company dedicated to the development of work that is socially, politically, and spiritually relevant to our times. 

Make Freedom Ring is a collective of workers in the arts, elevating Palestinian voices and driving conversation around Palestine in the performing arts world through fundraising efforts in partnership with on-the-ground organizations providing humanitarian aid in Gaza.  


100% of proceeds go to Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA). 

MECA is a Berkley, California-based nonprofit working to protect the rights and improve the lives of children in the Middle East through aid, empowerment and education. In the Middle East, MECA provides humanitarian aid in Palestine, Iraq, and Lebanon; partners with community organizations to run projects for children; and supports income-generation projects. In the US and internationally, MECA raises awareness about the lives of children in the region and encourages meaningful action. 

Recently, MECA has been an invaluable organization on the ground in Gaza providing direct aid including food, medicine, medical supplies, clothes, school supplies, and more. They also continue providing financial and technical support to community-based organizations and educational programs in the West Bank and Gaza to better the lives of children and youth.
