CONCERT: Taglietti’s Songbook with National Opera
Event description
Join us for this special concert performed by the National Opera to hear the music and songs inspired by the renowned mid-century architect Enrico Taglietti's Italian cultural heritage and also the music and songs enjoyed by his family.
Taglietti’s Songbook is inspired by the music that filled the Taglietti family home — a richly personal collection of Italian opera favourites and popular songs that speak to family, memory, and the family’s Italian heritage. From the elegance of Mozart and Puccini to the timeless melodies of ABBA and the Beatles, this program reflects the eclectic and cosmopolitan spirit that shaped Taglietti’s life and work.
Performed by acclaimed National Opera soloists Keren Dalzell and Katrina Wiseman, the evening promises a moving journey through the music that mattered most to the Taglietti family.
Program highlights include:
- Deh vieni and Sull’aria from Le Nozze di Figaro - W.A. Mozart
- Chi il bel sogno di Doretta - G. Puccini
- Ah non credea - V. Bellini
- He Shall Feed His Flock – G.F. Handel
- I Have a Dream – ABBA
- All My Loving – The Beatles
Doors will open from 5.00pm for pre-concert exhibition viewing. Drinks and antipasto boxes will be available for purchase at the bar before the concert and during intermission.
Proudly supported by the Embassy of Italy Canberra. This concert is part of the Taglietti: A Life in Design exhibition and to celebrate World Music Day.
