Concrete Conversation: WASMA & WASM Special Event

The WA School of Mines Alumni (WASMA) and the WA School of Mines (WASM) are pleased to be hosting a special event in Kalgoorlie this October. Join us for "Concrete Conversation: Developments in Sprayed Concrete" featuring global industry leader Tom Melbye from the Normet Group.

Tom Melbye is the Senior Advisor and former President of Normet Group, bringing over 45 years of international experience in underground construction. A pioneer in sprayed concrete and tunnelling technologies, Tom has been at the forefront of innovation, evolving wet-mix techniques into the modern, safer ground support systems adopted worldwide. Throughout his career, Tom has led major industry developments, earned global recognition including the Golden Hammer Award, and continues to advise organisations on sustainable underground solutions.

Join us for this special event on Tuesday, 21 October 2025. The evening will begin at 6:00 PM with a formal presentation and Q&A session in the Hobson Theatre, followed by networking at the WASM Social Club.
