Conexiones

Conexiones is a regular group meeting held at PYT Fairfield for artists from Western Sydney of Latin American origin and ancestry. Join us over a meal to talk about your latest projects, ask questions, network and learn more about what is happening in the Australian-Latinx arts community. 

For Conexiones session #3 our Creative Producer, Gabriela Green Olea will give you a taste of her latest dance work 'Mystery Call' - a 1-to-1 conversation that is digitally delivered and connects us in community near and far, presenting at Melbourne's Midsumma Festival 2025 in collaboration with MindsEye Collective, CALLE Collective and Teatro Sur (Chile).

ABOUT GABRIELA GREEN OLEA

Gabriela is a Western Sydney based dance/community artist, activist and creative producer who works across many mediums and in inclusive environments. As a daughter and granddaughter of family and artists that fled the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile, her work responds to the ideas of cross-cultural identity, the transitional space of belonging to community/place and dance/art as protest. Gabriela’s performance & choreography is social and participatory. She has created works/collectives such as ‘CALLE’ (Australia, Chile, Argentina) and ‘Spaces of Belonging’ (Dirtyfeet, Out of the Studio) and has performed / choreographed / worked on projects such as ‘Mystery Call’ (MindsEye Collective, UTP), Bulla Midhong (Big hART, Wallaga Lake Koori Village, Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre), ENCOUNTER and the We are Here Company (Emma Saunders, FORM Dance Projects, Sydney Festival, Sydney Opera House, Open Field Festival, Bleach* Festival). Gabriela is a creative producer at PYT Fairfield dedicated to supporting young and emerging artists in Western Sydney. Gabriela’s most recent project 50 / 50 / 50 is a digital international project where she has filmed herself dancing 50 times in 50 South American locations for 50 seconds in response to the 50 year anniversary of the Chilean coup in 2023/24.

The Fairfield School of Arts is located at 19 Harris Street, Fairfield NSW 2165.

The distance to Fairfield train station is 350 metres, a 5 minute walk.

There is parking in surrounding streets and in Downey Lane Car Park.
