Confidence Training Outline

Learn the importance of body language

Half the battle in personal interactions is how one carries themselves. Their body’s posture, the subtle movements of their hands and feet and torso, how they swing and bob left and right, even simple things like eye contact play a huge roll in how a person presents themselves to others and therefore how others perceive them and react to them. To that end the course will instruct learners on how to improve their posture, use proper gestures and instruct on when to best use them, as well as interpreting the same posture and subtle motions and differences in their peers and how to use these to your advantage.

Instill positive and cooperative attitudes for the workplace

One of the biggest factors that can boost a person’s confidence in themselves are their peers and the workplace itself. If rapport and close ties can be made with their peers, factors that can undermine confidence are then replaced by factors that favor the buildup therein. Learners are taught ways on how to improve interpersonal relations with their coworkers and peers in their environment to form these bonds with these peers, in turn setting up foundations where they can comfortably build themselves up in their workplace environment.

Improve communication skills

Communication is the exchange and interpretation of ideas between two parties. If one fails to convey their intended message clearly enough and/or fails to decipher the intended meaning behind the messages of others in an acceptable fashion, a failure of communication can occur. When this happens one side is left unintelligible and feeling unheard, while the other is left confused and out of the loop, unable to understand the wants and desires of the other. Such failures in communication can prove a hindrance at best, and disastrous at worst. The role of communication in life is immense, not to mention the workplace. It is however also complex as its components, both speaking and listening, are subtly difficult processes to perform, let alone master. Participants will be instruct in both proper methods of speech, as well as the arguably more difficult task of listening, with the intended goal of producing learners that are comfortable with both fields.

Create a sense of self-worth

The ability to draw personal strength from both themselves and their abilities while at the same time being able to comfortably suppress any fears and anxieties that they may have when confronted with situations where these are present or can be developed from is a key component in creating confidence. Our trainer will show the participants a range of techniques and strategies to personally overcome their limitations and discover their self-worth in the process allowing them to become solid pillars in of themselves.

Learn how and when to be assertive

One of the more obvious practical applications of confidence is one’s ability to assert themselves onto a situation either by bargaining or by otherwise getting their way in the workplace. This however is a delicate but difficult tool to use, as too much assertion can be seen as a negative behaviour while too little is equally devoid of merit in the workplace. A balance must be struck, and while context and other factors can influence how one’s confidence can be properly applied in a workplace to a safe degree, the participants, with the help of the trainer as well as a plethora of strategies made available to them will learn not only how to properly assert themselves in many different situations presented, but also when to do, and which mannerisms will be most appropriate to which situations.
