RIIWHS202E - Enter and Work in Confined Spaces

Course Overview

This nationally recognized course provides participants with the essential knowledge and skills to safely enter and work in confined spaces under a confined space permit. The training ensures that personnel understand the permit system, its limitations, and the requirements needed to comply with all confined space safety regulations.

Upon completion, participants will be able to safely enter confined spaces as part of their work routine while adhering to workplace safety standards and procedures.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Plan and Prepare for Confined Space Work: Interpret work requirements, understand documentation, assess risks, obtain entry permit, select PPE, prepare for emergencies, implement signage, select and check tools, and position rescue equipment.
  • Work in Confined Space: Access space, apply tagging/lock-out, maintain communication, follow permit requirements, and monitor entry time.
  • Exit Confined Space: Exit as per procedures, recover tools, inspect space, remove tagging/lock-out, and complete permit requirements.
  • Clean Up: Clear area, dispose of materials, clean/store barriers and signs, inspect equipment, conduct maintenance, and process records.

Delivery Method

  • Classroom (Theory): Structured instruction on confined space work requirements and permit systems.
  • Practical Training: Hands-on experience entering and exiting a simulated confined space.

  • Cost: $762.50

PLEASE NOTE:
• Once you have registered, all further correspondence for this course, including enrolment forms, tax invoices and any important updates, will come directly from the Onslow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
• Cancellation Policy: There is a 14-day cancellation policy; cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled course will not be eligible for a refund.
• Appropriate PPE must be worn on the day - long sleeve shirt, long pants, work boots, gloves and hard hat.

• No food or catering provided at this course
