We warmly welcome you to attend a Down Syndrome NSW Online Event

Down Syndrome in the Prenatal and Postnatal Stages - A Workshop for Health Professionals.

This workshop will be an informative and interactive session to help equip and upskill Medical Professionals in their delivery of a prenatal / postnatal diagnosis of Down syndrome.  Our Congratulations Initiative positively partners with Medical Professionals and we invite you to this presentation to help you prepare to engage with families in your care during this delicate stage.  Whether parents have a prenatal diagnosis or they find out at birth that their baby has Down syndrome, the words they hear and the information they receive is paramount.

Through our Congratulations Initiative, we are dedicated to providing you with up-to-date information to help you become more confident in talking to families who face a diagnosis of Down syndrome, which in turn, ensures families and their babies get the best start in life.  You will also have access to our suite of information and resources for Medical Professionals plus opportunities throughout the session to ask questions.

We'll take a deeper dive into key areas that include:

    • Introduction on Down Syndrome NSW and the Services and Supports our Congratulations Initiative Provides to both Medical Professionals & Families
    • An Overview of Down Syndrome
    • Statistics and Current Trends
    • Best Practice in Delivering a Diagnosis in a non-bias way (Prenatal & Postnatal Strategies)
