The workshop is an informative workshop for Medical Professionals
This workshop will assist medical professional to understand the importance of a positive delivery of a diagnosis of Down Syndrome.
In this workshop we will cover topics such as:
* Down Syndrome - an overview
* How best to talk to the women in your care who have a new baby who has a diagnosis of Down syndrome.
This workshop with deliver up to date informative information to assist with the messaging of "Congratulations" not sorry to a family with a prenatal or post-natal diagnosis of Down Syndrome.
Down Syndrome is not just about an extra chromosome or a disability.
Whether a new mum had a prenatal diagnosis or finds out at birth that her baby has Down syndrome...this event needs to be celebrated.
Melissa Cotterill's dedication to supporting families shines through in her role as Prenatal and New Baby Manager, leading the Congratulations Initiative at Down Syndrome NSW.
With a background in secretarial and event management roles, Melissa's experience in organising programs and events fosters a nurturing and supportive environment for families receiving a prenatal/postnatal diagnosis of Down syndrome.
Her passion for education and awareness drives her commitment to ensuring families feel supported, informed, and connected to the resources and services provided by DS NSW. Melissa and her husband have four daughters, one of whom is a teenager who has Down syndrome.
