CONNECT & CREATE 2026

A Fun and Inclusive STEAM Day for Everyone!

Join us for a FREE day of fun, creativity and connection as we celebrate the International Day of People with Disability 2026!

With Christmas just around the corner, we'll also bring some festive cheer through creative Christmas activities for children, young people and families to enjoy together!

Organised by the Vietnam-Australia Scholars & Experts Association (VASEA) – WA Chapter, in partnership with THT Vitality and Curtin University's Autism Academy for Software Quality Assurance (AASQA), this event welcomes children and young people, with and without disability, and their families and carers.

This event is proudly supported by Developmental Disability WA (DDWA) through the International Day of People with Disability 2026 Event Sponsorship Program. We are grateful for this support in bringing young people aged 7-22 and families together to celebrate inclusion and diversity.

Places are limited, so register now!

Only ONE ticket is required per FAMILY. Please indicate the total number of adults and children attending when completing the registration form to help us plan activities and catering.

What's happening on the day?

  • 🤖 LEGO Robotics & Coding – Explore technology through fun, hands-on activities.

  • 🛠️ Engineering Challenges – Build, design and solve problems together.

  • 🎨 Arts & Crafts – Enjoy painting, origami and creative projects.

  • 🎄 Christmas Card Making & Decorating — Design and decorate your own festive greeting cards.

  • 🎶 Music & Dancing – Have fun, make friends and celebrate together!

Morning tea and brunch will also be provided.

Activities will take place in small groups, with friendly volunteers and mentors available to guide activities and encourage participation among children and young people of different ages, abilities and interests.

Important Information for Parents and Carers:

Please note that this is a group-based STEAM event involving hands-on activities, group interactions, and potentially busy or noisy environments.

Parents, legal guardians, carers, and support workers remain fully responsible for the supervision, safety, and personal care of their children and young people at all times during the event.

While volunteers and mentors will be available to assist with group activities, the organisers are unable to provide dedicated one-on-one support. We will do our best to accommodate accessibility needs where reasonably possible.

If you have any accessibility concerns or specific requirements, please contact the organisers before the event.

Thank you for your understanding and support!
