Connecting to Country for Educators 27 Feb - Fingal
Event description
Uncle Franc, from the Saltwater people of Bundjalung nation, is an Indigenous Cultural Educator and will share some of his local knowledge of traditional Aboriginal ways through the Dreamtime pathway and Bush Tucker Walk discussing the traditional uses of plants for food, medicine and tools.
This professional development will enrich educators with valuable understanding of our local Aboriginal history, their connections to land and water and consider ways to incorporate this knowledge into our educator practices.
You will have a chance to use your senses of touch, sight, smell and taste to appreciate the natural bushland and Aboriginal cultural landscape in the beautiful Tweed shire.
Please note the session involves walking through a nature path and up the headland, at times over sand, uneven ground a a rocky headland path.
We will provide you with resources to support your learning.
