Event description

In this workshop participants will begin by being guided in how to listen to and tend the sacred, so as to be able to start connecting to place.

To facilitate this movement, we will briefly discuss the central role humility, wonder and awe plays and then do some grounding exercises to take us out of our heads so as to dwell in our bellies. We will then do a practice walking the land, learning to lean in and listen to the silence and what is revealed there.

With this embodied foundation, students will then be invited into a ritual space, to learn how creating a sacred space in place can facilitate both the connection with the Ancestors as well as the unseen world present in place. Some of the issues we will discuss include:

  • how to create an intention?

  • when are good time to make ritual?

  • why is it important to know the history and ecology of a place?

  • is mind/body integration / healing necessary?

  • why it so important to trust yourself and your experiences...

After experiencing a-ritual-in-place there will be time to debrief and ask questions.

While it's not necessary it is advised that attendees have participated in the 'Connecting to Gaelic Paganism' workshop, because this workshop is building on ideas introduced there.
