    Event description

    15 WEEKS OF CONSCIOUS CALMNESS (8 Fortnightly ONLINE SESSIONS)

    As we step into Spring it is time to allow our seeds to sprout & emerge.

    How do you want to show up for yourself in this life over the coming season, moving towards the expansion of Summer.

    This course has been designed to enable you to start or continue your journey of self-enquiry and reflection as you grow during this time.

    This is the second offering of this course this year. The first one sold out and has been an incredible life changing journey. So if you are feeling called to join there is no better time. Set yourself up for the new year.

    This course will be offered via ZOOM & commence on Monday 2nd September and run every second Monday for 8 sessions, ending on 9th December & is open to the first 12 people who secure their space. (If you miss a session at any time you will be able to access a recording for a limited time).

    Imagine going into the Christmas season with a newly balanced nervous system........

    Did you know you could be living in flight, fright or freeze mode, without even knowing?

    Do you have any idea of the impact that this has on all your bodily functions, including your stress response?

    This 8 session 15 week course will provide a space to come together to learn about the role your nervous system plays in your life and how it may be being activated, resulting in reactiveness, disharmony, communication breakdowns, health issues and life imbalances.

    Many of us have had dysregulated nervous systems since childhood. Having caregivers who did not have the capacity or availability to their own emotional resources to be safe, secure spaces for us to learn how to develop and connect to our own emotional awareness & responses (usually because this was not provided to them as children) created a lot of this, along with any other trauma we have experienced through our own lives.

    This is not about blaming our caregivers in any way, shape or form. It is however, about taking responsibility for how we can change the patterns of our conditioning that no longer serve us and step into our adult selves when moving through life and connecting with others. Being able to respond to situations and challenges that we come across daily in a way that leaves us feeling balanced, calm, and empowered, instead of reacting in ways that leave us feeling angry, resentful, sad, hurt and disempowered is a skill that can turn your life around.

    In order to do this, we need to look at the role our nervous system is playing in our lives.

    We will look at the role the Vagus Nerve (the longest of our twelve cranial nerves) that runs from our brain stem, down through our bodies, connecting into all of our vital organs, has in our lives and the impact it has on our bodies. This nerve is responsible for the regulation of our internal organ function, such as digestion, heart rate, breathing rate and our immune system (+ more). When we think about the role it plays in calming our body after we have been in stressful situations, we can start to understand just how important it is to be able to keep it toned and balanced.

    Once our bodies are displaying physical symptoms, this is usually a sign that there is a lot more going on beneath the surface and often for an extended period of time. According to the Brain Association some of the physical symptoms the vagus nerve disorders can be (but are not limited to):

    * Sleep disruptions

    * Heart palpitations & irregular heartbeat

    * Changes in blood pressure

    * Dizziness or fainting

    * Nausea or vomiting

    * Gastric acid reflux

    * Depression

    * Anxiety

    * Abdominal Pain

    * Irritable Bowel Syndrome

    * Swallowing difficulties

    Now we don't want to get to a stage in our lives when we are experiencing any of these symptoms. That is why is it so important to learn how to keep this extremely important part of our body balanced and in check.

    Looking at our own internal response to stress and the impact that it is having on our emotional health is a great place to start.

    You will learn different exercises during this course to do just that, that you will be able to integrate easily into your life in all situations. Doing this not only has the capability of improving your mental health but your physical health as well.

    During this course we will be engaging in and covering some of the following topics:

    * Learning about the role our nervous system plays in our lives

    * The role of the Vagus Nerve

    * Exercises to tone & calm our nervous system

    * The difference between reacting and responding
