Event description
Ready to level up your photography skills for conservation?
We are hosting a Conservation Photography workshop with Peter Hunt who will share practical tips on the 3rd of April from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Learn how to take the right kind of scientific and macro photos of plants, insects, birds and other wildlife, helping researchers identify and monitor species in your area. These skills will be useful anytime you’re out in nature!
Also, here’s your chance to connect with fellow nature lovers and citizen scientists and get ready for the City Nature Challenge.

No previous photography experience required. Limited spots, If you are no longer available to attend, please cancel the spot for others
What you will learn
- Basic photographic concepts, including: composition, phone basics, working with natural light and taking pictures of nature.
- How to capture macro photos of smaller things in nature and what you need to click
- How to upload your photos to iNaturalist a free app that helps in conserving nature
What to bring
- A fully charged device Please note: this is a bring your own device event, a phone, tablet or camera is preferred, but other devices are welcome.
Each participant will receive a handout to take home.
