Join us for an intimate sunset gathering to connect through embodied movement.

We will begin with a meditation, opening circle and guided practices before moving into an open dance in the surrounds of nature.

What does it mean to truly connect?

How do we remain in contact with our own heart, and the heart of others, in full co-creation within the dance of life, honouring exactly where we are at moment to moment?

Contact Beyond Contact (CBC) is a dance and a healing practice that integrates Contact Improvisation, Authentic Movement and Passing Through, underpinned by Eastern philosophies.

Through the medium of dance and our authentic expression as a metaphor for life and how we relate, this practice supports us to rewire the body, mind and heart to transform our patterns to create greater harmony in the way in which we connect to self, others and the world around us.

In this 2 hour workshop, through expressive and mindful movement we find true embodied connection to self and in turn, connect with others and our environment from a place of integrity, deep respect and awareness.

You will be guided through somatic practices and techniques, where movement, shared energy and contact become the embodied communication for true connection.

We will gently build the practice throughout the session, from dancing solo, with a partner, in trio's, ending with an open dance space to practice and integrate the tools cultivated.

Who is this for?

This space is open for all, no dance or contact improvisation experience necessary. If you feel curious, this is for you. If this feels like an edge, you are welcome to meet it in safe space. This is for those with dance and CI experience who wish to dive deeper into the holistic nature of their movement practice. This is for people who enjoy dance, those with a desire to learn more about themselves, those who seek spaces for mindful movement and conscious connection. You are welcome.

Vision

The vision for this work is to create a transformational and intentional dance practice to support human evolution through human connection integrated harmony of mind, body, heart and spirit.

What's next?

I anticipate to facilitate a series of these workshops, integrating regular open jam spaces as the community expands to continue to move, practice, connect and grow as a community.
