Contemplative Prayer
Event description
Contemplative Prayer, also known as Centering Prayer, is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to experience God's presence within us, closer than anything else in our life, even breathing and consciousness itself. This method of prayer allows us a structure to pray and to enter a relationship with God.
The first Saturday of each month, the Contemplative Prayer meeting gives us the opportunity to practice this method of silent prayer together and to explore more deeply how God uses our willingness to let go so He draw us into contemplation and oneness with Him and each other. The meeting will have two 20-minute prayer sessions and a 30-minute teaching by contemplative masters such as Thomas Keating and James Finley.
This monthly meeting is free, but registration is recommended for reserved seating as this meeting is in-person at Emmaus Spirituality Center.
