Calling all Adults who love to move for Introduction to Contemporary Dance Workshops 1-3.

This workshop series will explore three main themes. Intro to Contemporary Dance, Shapes to Stage and Concepts to Stage.

 Each workshop as a whole, will provide a basis for learning the fundamentals of contemporary dance. An outline of each workshop is below. 

You can do one, two, or all three workshops: In doing three you will be able to build on the skills learned and develop movement material with the confidence to present and share your own dance.


Workshop 1: Foundations of Dance: Introduction to Contemporary Dance: Sunday 20th Oct 10 am-1pm

Learn to confidently create a dance from your body movement using dance techniques, spatial awareness, and how to use elements of dance with movement patterns that use rolling, falling, leaping, landing, extension/ retraction, weight distribution & momentum. Time &  energy.

A short contemporary sequence will be taught as a starting point which you can develop with your sequences of movement, in this workshop you'll learn the basics of contemporary dance, then weave the dance together using the foundation movements to launch the dancer in you.

Workshop 2: Contemporary Dance: From Shapes to Stage: Saturday 9th Nov  10am-1pm (Rescheduled date)


 Create your own dance sequence, Learn a sequence, explore spatial awareness & staging skills, ensemble (group) skills, patterns, facings, understanding timing (basics), collaborate with others, create & share your own dance sequence, choreography basics, choreographic devices, performance basics/ dance showing.

Workshop 3: Contemporary Dance: Concepts to Stage: Saturday 16th November 10am-1pm (Rescheduled date) 

Create your own dance sequence based on a concept, learn a dance sequence, introduction to performance skills, explore musicality, Performance skills for dancing on stage & own it, and stage skills. Perform/ share your dance in a group. This workshop is for anyone, who has always wanted to perform or develop an idea to perform as a dance.

Early Bird Ticket to save on all workshops.                                                                                                                                                                  Combo tickets are available for workshops 1 & 2 or 2 & 3.
A single workshop pass is available until the day before each workshop begins

Full Workshop Series 1, 2 & 3: $220 19th Oct.

No refunds are available, please read the refund policy.

All workshops require each other to dance, your booking ensures our workshops can run and you have people to connect, share, and dance with, your attendance is an important part of these workshops. We value you, your registration, and your presence in each workshop, and are excited to share with you. In registering you are committing to showing up and participating. In the instance of sickness, your registration and payment will be transferred to a future workshop.
