Continuum Movement Practice: Toronto Classes with Kim Brodey
Description
Continuum is a practice of listening from the inside.
Through imagery, sound, breath, and movements that spiral, curve, and flow through the body, we enter a dialogue with sensation. The vibration of sound and breath influences the movement of our cells and fluids, stirring our internal waters. From here, we get curious. What sensations are arising? How do those stirred waters want to move?
As we tend sensation and follow the flow within, movement emerges organically. We become the movement of water itself.
In this silent dialogue with sensation, we explore our internal watery realms. We gradually let go of the ways we define a body and what it can do, opening instead to the mystery of the evolutionary process that is constantly unfolding within us.
These three-hour classes offer spacious time to slow down, listen deeply, and rediscover the body as a source of nourishment, creativity, and wisdom.
“ We live in a time that cries out for a universal consciousness in which the pulse of the planet meets the beat of our hearts and we are one.”
- Emilie Conrad

What Is Continuum?
Continuum is an exploration into breath, sound, and the watery, fluid nature of the body. Engaging non-patterned movement coupled with the vibrations of sound and breath, we explore and awaken our bio-intelligence.
Water is a key element of well-being, as all metabolic exchanges in the body happen through water. The vibrating resonances of sound and breath enliven and stimulate the waters that bathe our internal landscape. With curiosity, attention to felt sensation, and permission for what arises, movement is guided from within.
Continuum inspires creativity in thinking and enlivens the body.
“In resonance all fluid systems are united. I say that no matter where in the galaxy they may be, all fluid systems function as basically one body or organ of intelligence.”
— Emilie Conrad
About Kim Brodey
Kim Brodey began teaching Continuum in 1994 and was authorized by Emilie Conrad and Susan Harper in1998 to lead workshops in Europe and North America. She has trained extensively in Susan Harper’s Continuum Montage work. These practices, along with more than 50 years of exploring many somatic modalities, inform her workshops, classes, and private sessions.
Creating an environment where participants have the opportunity and permission to explore new territory is central to Kim’s facilitation. She brings patience and an invitation to creative play with movement in all its forms.
Kim has been teaching and working with individual clients, groups, and couples since 1972, when she began her work as a rural midwife. While she no longer works with babies, her midwifery continues through supporting the process of becoming fully embodied.
