CONVERGE. Enter the field. A shifting landscape of light and sound.
A one night premier immersive light and surround sound installation where time-coded lighting and a synchronised custom score transform an industrial space into a shifting landscape of motion, rhythm and atmosphere. Step inside a darkened space as kinetic lighting and a cinematic industrial soundscape create an evolving atmosphere of electromagnetic hums, reverberated scrap metal, analogue synth bass and rich textural layers.
Everything converges. Beam to beam, light and sound, space and body. The experience encourages free movement as the installation builds, peaks and slowly dissolves around you.
CONVERGE is the magnetic pull of things toward each other and what it feels like to step inside a moment of alignment.
Tickets will be avail until doors if not sold out, but we ask that you purchase them here to avoid wait time.
This experience is an 18+ event and will have a bar. Anyone underage must be accompanied by a parent/ legal guardian, no younger than 14 for Sessions 1-3 only.
SESSION 4 - CLOSING PARTY 9PM: The full CONVERGE experience, followed by an extended live set from Jake Steele as Tobacco Rat, plus special guest Vijay Thillaimuthu (45mins each). Where CONVERGE ends, music and movement take over.
Jake Steele (Tobacco Rat) will perform a live set of dark, bass-heavy electronic performance, blending half-time drum and base, dubstep and industrial beats backed by live lighting.
Vijay Thillaimuthu is an audio-visual artist and electronic composer who will perform a live electronic set using theremin-controlled, modular synthesisers.
This experience is strictly 18+ event and will have a bar, anyone underage will be refused entry.
FAQs
- How long will the event last for?
Session 1 -3 is timed entry approximately 35min experience. Session 4 is 2 hours and includes the converge experience plus 2 live sets.
- What should I expect?
You'll enter a darkened industrial space where time-coded kinetic lighting and a surround sound score run for approximately 35 minutes. It is like a performance, there are no seats, you can stand and watch, or move through the space at your own pace. There's no right way to experience it.
- Where is the event located?
The location is 2-50 Elizabeth Street, Kensington, VIC 3031 close to Kensington station and Macaulay station.
- Does session 4 closing party include the Converge experience?
Yes it includes the 35min converge experience plus 2 x 45 live sets from Jake Steele and Vijay Thillaimuthu.
- Is it accessible?
Yes the venue is wheelchair accessible on the ground floor.

Jasmine Grace Studio
CONVERGE is presented by Jasmine Grace Studio, a Melbourne based creative practice dedicated to transforming atmospheres through sensory and experiential encounters. Led by award winning light artist and creative director Jasmine Grace, the studio creates light based installations, public artworks and immersive environments that evoke wonder, awaken the senses and shift how people feel within a space. The practice sits at the intersection of light, motion, technology and spatial design, rooted in a deep curiosity about perception and presence.
Jake Steele - Sound Designer & Producer
In collaboration with, Jake Steele - Multi-award winning electronic music producer and sound designer with over 20 years experience. He combines electronic elements, field recordings and found objects, scape metal, vintage synths and high quality audio manipulation plugins to create diverse and unique sounds. He has created music and audio for film, fashion, advertising, dance, and immersive formats. For CONVERGE, Jake has composed an original cinematic industrial score built from electromagnetic hum, reverbed scrap metal and analogue synth - designed for full surround sound. He will also preform a live 45 min set as Tobacco Rat for the Session 4 Closing Party - a dark, bass heavy electronic performance, blending half-time drum and base, dubstep and industrial beats.
Vijay Thillaimuthu - Electronic Composer
Vijay Thillaimuthu is an audio-visual artist and electronic composer informed by the rich history of sound synthesis and electromagnetic phenomena. Vijay has presented work nationally and internationally over a career spanning 20 years, including for Unsound, MIFF, Brisbane Powerhouse, Subliminal Impulse Manchester, The Banff Centre, Zürich University of the Arts, Seoul Arts Center and the Tokyo Festival of Modular. In 2025 he premiered Oblation at The Substation as part of the Asia Topa festival. The work received the Green Room Award for Outstanding Sound Work before being programmed for presentation in India at Serendipity Arts Festival & G5A - Mumbai. Vijay Thillaimuthu will perform a live electronic 45 min set for the Session 4 Closing Party - using theremin-controlled, modular synthesisers.
