Conversations About Suicide Course - Fundraiser for Let's Talk Colac
Event description
Join us on October 4th for a Conversations About Suicide Course at the Walk the Walk Festival!
This powerful 5-hour course, running from 10am to 3pm, equips you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, understand, and respond to someone experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours. The course is authored by Mental Health First Aid Australia and recognised by Suicide Prevention Australia as a safe and effective program. Course Instructors are Licensed with Mental Health First Aid Australia.
This course, which typically costs $150-$350 per person, is being offered for $25. The proceeds from your ticket fee and any additional donation you make will go directly to Let's Talk Colac to support their vital work in the community (less the Humanitix booking and card fees, and gst). The Venue and Course Instructor's time have been donated, so every dollar you give makes a difference.
Course participants will have time for a break to enjoy the festival and walk laps around the circuit. There is limited capacity of 36 people and we'd like to fill every spot! Please arrive between 9:30am and 9:45am for a 10am start.
Enrol Now and help us create a community where everyone feels empowered to have life-saving conversations.
The course is founded on mutual respect and empathy. All participants are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that promotes a supportive learning environment. Behaviour that is deemed unsocial, disruptive, or disrespectful will result in the participant being asked to leave the course. To attend, you must be 18 years or older. This ticket allows one person to participate in the course at the date, time, and venue specified.
