Conversations with experts - how to best support your HDR candidates career development and direction
Event description
With the best will in the world, an accomplished research academic may bring an element of unconscious bias to conversations with their HDR candidates around their future career direction. Statistics show that less than half of all HDR candidates in Australia will end up in higher education (GDS, 2022) thus, enabling conversations between supervisors and candidates around career development opportunities outside academia is increasingly important . Through discussion with a mix of HDR supervisors and experienced career practitioners working with HDR candidates this webinar will explore the experiences of academics having meaningful career conversations with their HDR candidates and provide expert advice on structuring productive HDR career conversations.
