Event description

Perth College will be hosting Grant Dusting on Thursday 12 August from 6.15 pm to 8.00 pm in the Judith Cottier Theatre.

Grant Dusting is a social researcher and the Director of Strategy at the internationally recognised McCrindle - an organisation that specialises in human behaviour.

Grant will speak about understanding and leading the next generation - Generation Alpha. Born between 2010 and 2024, these are the children of Generation Y, and often the younger siblings of Generation Z. There are more than 3 million Gen Alphas in Australia with more than 2.5 million born globally every week, putting them on track to outnumber Baby Boomers in four years and be the largest generation in the history of the world by 2025.

Some characteristics of this generation:

  • Will likely live to see the 22nd century
  • Have brand influence and purchasing power beyond their years
  • Shape the social media landscape
  • Are popular culture influencers and emerging consumers

Perth College Dean of Learning Innovations, Andrea Holloway, will start the presentation with an introduction to our sparc program and how it enables Gen Alpha students to develop characteristics that will prepare them for the world now, and into the future. Grant will then present his speech on Generation Alpha and how we can best understand and lead them in education before hosting a Q&A with parents and students.
