Join us for this great community building event, as we raise money to support our rowers going forward into the 2024 season. The perfect opportunity for past and present rowers and supporters to catch up and celebrate Wesley Rowing.
Crews will fight it out in scratch races over a course of 200 metres in coxed quads, for the glory of having their names in the history books AND for the chance to win a $100 Forrest Chase shopping voucher for each winning crew member (including the coxswain, of course).
Seats are available in mixed crews of experienced and novice rowers. Open to old boys, teachers, coaches, mums, dads, and of course our current Wesley and Penrhos rowers! Wesley Rowing staff will balance the crews, and the draw will be revealed just prior to racing.
This year, we will be adding an additional fundraising event – For those rowers who are extra keen to write their names into the history books! The “Wyvern Sprint” will offer the opportunity to pre-select all four seats in a boat at a cost of $200. Crews can be made up of two experienced and two novice rowers. You can nominate a coxswain, or one can be provided for you. This event may appeal to family groups, current rowers or ex rowers! This event will be run separately to the randomised draw of the Coode Street Cup. Forrest Chase vouchers will also be up for grabs for the winners of this race. Rowers are invited to enter both events if they wish.
Rowers (and spectators!) build up a very healthy appetite during a regatta, so you can pre purchase burgers and sausage sizzles when booking.
We will have drinks and a limited number of sausage sizzles available for purchase at the event, but we encourage pre-ordering of food to assist with planning and catering.
Any questions can be directed to Rob Thomas, Wesley College Director of Rowing, at Rob.Thomas@wesley.wa.edu.au.
